KATE HOYER

KATE HOYER's linear portraits of dogs, and the occasional cat or horse, are a striking resemblance of each animals personality and physical traits. Hoyer's use of lines is a result of her interest in what the line represents, whether it be the end of the road or infinity. She applies the latter concept to her compositions in an attempt to capture the inevitable integration of dogs in our society and lives. Her use of color and line is extraordinary, as intended by the artist in an effort to offer something exceptional to an ordinary being. Her portraits are a true reflection of the complex love and loyalty that is so hard to fathom in man's best friend.
